I am all for killing animals for their fur. I would much rather any animal die than me die just cause I wouldn't want to get their fur to keep my own self warm. Killing animals is a good thing! We need to kill animals cause it is how we as humans made by God in Heaven survive and he allows us to so there is nothing wrong with it.

The killing of wild or farmed animals for fur

The little fur farms are kinda ghastly, I suppose, plus we don't make any other use of the popular fur animals. I know I'd be kinda pissed if I was raised in foul conditions and killed once I hit my prime so some waspy bitch could wear me and the rest of my clan to a lame ass party...

Fur has definately fallen from grace due to the success of the anti-fur lobby. But I personally would feel very hypocritical getting up in arms about the treatment of mink on a fur farm and then going home and BBQing a chicken that was raised in a barn, especially if I rub the chicken down with black pepper and paprika and stuff a beer can up its butt. Sure fur is an unecessary fashion caprice and there are acceptable and less environmentally nasty alternatives to it for providing warmth during the cold winter. But if that's your viewpoint, I assume you aren't wearing a diamond wedding band or leather shoes, and there's no teak furniture in you home. And enjoy all that tofu for supper.

It's either them or us if you ask me. Have you ever been to mink or chinchilla farm? It takes hundreds of them to make just one fir coat. Besides, most of those tiny rodents don't fair well in the wild. Every crow, hawk, and eagle for miles keeps them in check.

I'm going to start skinning people and wearing them, not nice right? A little disturbing? Cruel? Ya, exactly.

I'm not going to make a case for the benefits of fur-trapping or breeding mink or chincilla for fashion purposes. I do, however, get worn out by the anti-fur folks who think they're making the world better by screaming at women wearing fur coats or throwing paint on them. If they are so courageous in the statement of their principle that animals should not be used for clothing, why don't they exhibit the same behaviour towards a leather clad outlaw biker? And I'd be all in favor of establishing a domestic cat-fur industry....

If an animal is being killed only for the fur, then I can't buy that. If this is really your bag, use the imitation stuff. Works just as well, and without doubt less expensive.

I don't believe in animals being killed for their fur, especially when there are so many other materials out there to work with. It's utterly senseless. Update: For all people who believe in fur production, may a skunk back up, lift its tail, and let it RIP! :D

Fur as a fashion is pretty much a thing of the past, at least in western culture. I never understood the appeal of wearing a dead animals fur.

Well Ashlynne from myspace wrote a report about it in sixth grade, so that settles it, wearing fur must be bad. I guess all those guys I knew in high school who set traps every day to make a few bucks must have been evil people.Get over yourself people, there's nothing wrong with wearing fur. It's too expensive, but that's a different issue.

NO NO NO....the only reason people buy fur is for the sake of showing off that they have $. There is no need for fur only if you are going to use fur from the animals who were slaughtered for their meat but harmless pitiful little innocent animals NO!!! Can you tell I am an animal lover?!?

This is HORRIBLE! I don't mind animals being used for food. The remainder of their bodies can then be used for whatever but simply killing a beautiful animal to make money or use it as a trophy - NOT!

Farming fur, in this day and age? Out of what...necessity? Greed? Status-seeking? No, couldn't be that. Must be necessity.

Can they just cut off their fur instead of skinning? It makes more sense and it saves all lives. I would not want to see how they skin them- besides, who do you know eats lynx, tiger or fox meat? Such a waste of a body.

all in the name of vanity. beautiful animals lose their lives so barbaric humans can skin them and make coats, hats etc to wear. cruel and selfish. poor babies.

Oh come on now all you posters. It is just as moral to kill an animal for its fur as for its hide or meat or hooves or other offal. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? Really, now, what is the difference? And please don't tell me about need until all of you refuse to buy any more shoes until the ones you now own fall to pieces! No buying new shoes until you absolutely NEED them. I also hope that none of you who are against fur is overweight from chomping that extra steak or burger or pork chop or, well, you know.

Quit crying over the use of fur.I dont own any but if I want it,get it.Why have people become so sissyfied. Why is it a crime to be human. If I think I look good in fur then round up a few minks and a rabbit or two.But it is o.k. if the rabbits chew up my garden because that is what they do.Well get off your high horse because we humans like the way the fuzzy critters feel against our skin because that is what humans do.

I've never understood anti-Fur types. . .it doesn't do anything for me, but how can I be anti-fur after I walk around in leather shoes and enjoy a nice steak?

For all those "fashionable" people out there that love to wear fur, go to China and look the animal in the eyes as it gets skinned alive by those stupid asian fur producers and tell me if you still love your fur coat as much after that.

It is terrible walking around wearing a dead animal on your shoulder, yeh along time ago it was tradition, but now it is just disgusting, now is different because we have done research into animals and found they are intelligent where as then we didn't. To me wearing fur is like wearing the skin of a person you murdered
