Here's a little bit of information from your very own BBB. . seeing that you all seem to know exactally what is going on. This is taken straight from their site: Customer Complaint History for Northwest Recovery, Inc. When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints. BBB processed A TOTAL OF 8 complaints about Northwest Recovery, Inc. IN THE LAST 36 MONTHS, our standard reporting period. Of the total of 8 complaints closed in 36 months, 1 was closed in the last year. So what the facts are actually reflecting are that these claims are unfounded and inacurate. Maybe you should review the parking rules and try to obey them instead of blaming NWR for your short comings. Let me also say that some nights we tow up to 20-30 cars per night. . so for those of you that are able to do math. . i'm su... Read more

We aren't reps, we're wives. Now, if you look in the complex rules, you'll see that visitors may only park for so long. That is the rule at almost any complex. As for not taking your card, they have the right (just like anyone) to refuse your payment. Especially if they think you might cancel your payment. By the way, that's theft & you will be prosecuted. If you think a driver damaged your car, you should say so before you even get into your car. Once you leave the lot, there is nothing anyone can do. Unless you tape every second of your car there is no proof who did the damage or when. It's obvious if the driver damaged it or not. There are only certain ways your car can be damaged by a tow truck. You're wrong, there aren't 19 employees. There's less. But you're right, they make alot of money. Because eople don't follow rules. I check this site quite often, & that's all I see. Again, you're wrong. They can still renew their license. Complaints or not. 99% of the complaints are unfou... Read more

I live in a complex with no assigned guest parking spaces, however, as a guest you have to have a guest parking sticker and it is recommended to park at the end of the complex. My parents have been visiting and staying by me for the last few weeks, and they have a quest parking sticker displayed in their windshield. Their car got towed twice already, first time NWR claimed that they were parked too close to the complex, the second time they claimed that the guest parking sticker was not visible (it was hanging on the mirror of the front windshield! - I don't know how could it possibly be not visible). I had to call police to be able to take the car, because they only wanted to get cash and wouldn't take a debit/credit card, even though they DO accept VISA/MC/Discover. They threw my card at me and told me to get cash or just leave. FYI: they don't like to take card payments because it's a legal paper trail and may be disputed with your bank or credit card carrier. Also, ... Read more

i parked my motorcycle in a permit parking only i am a resident but they only give one sticker. i got a warning that i cant park there.ok i understand i moved my licensed fully working bike into the alotted visitor parking where i am supposed to. well two days later it was towed anyway for no reason. this place then had the audacity of telling me it was 500 dollars to get it out.?! i am glad that one of the workers wives commented on the page cause now you can see how there mind sets are. i am filling out a police report and i reported them to the bbb which they have a horrible grade anyway. also i am so upset about having to pay the worth of my motorcycle just to get it out that i called lisa madigans office i hope you had a wonderful wedding cause im pretty sure your anniversary wont be as sweet when your jag of a husband is out of buisness.. what happened to being decent!

I can't believe this company still exists. Needless to say the cops needed to be called because the driver pushed the owner of the car and called him obsenities. Telling him that if he didn't have a witness he'd be on the ground, also that he'll tow his car even if it's in the driveway next time....its his word against the owner. The owner of the vehicle DID have a sticker placed in the rear window with the date on it. They tow just to tow. They should be PUT out of business! It's unfortunate the association deals with this company. At least a police report was filed, the guy is an IDIOT for treatening the person that lives there. He should be fired for that.

This is no way to deal with people. Our lighting crew was working inside a target store in palatine, so we have authorization to leave our truck parked out of the way in their lot. At 3:25 am on our second and final night of work in the store our truck was stolen by Northwest recovery and held for a ransom of 520$, cash or personal credit only, they refused our company card. A co-workers personal credit card was refused on the grounds that his state issued ID and temporary drivers liscence was insuficient. This company is Extorting monies off of legitimate working Americans. Something must be done, and i for one am publishing a complaint.

I don't understand what the problem is!!! All people that are upset with NW Recovery need to re-examine each scenario carefully!!! If you parked where you shouldn't then it is understood that you will be towed, therefore, you need to pay the fine! Most cases $150! It is unfortunate that you people are discriminating the employees of NW Recovery, when they are simply doing their job. It is a job that is putting food on the table! I Love Northwest Recovery and Repossession and all of their employees are hard working, strong, and smart individuals. You all tell them to get a real job, well thanks to you guys you're keeping them in buisness and paying for both mine and my best friend's wedding! Thank you!!! Muah! Call for your buisness, it's appreciated! =)

I understand that people who tow cars don't have the best customers coming in to pick up their cars especially when they have to pay $150 after the cars was towed and broken into. The people at Northwest Recovery are very rude and really have terrible customer service. I definitely will never deal with this towing company even if I was stranded and had no other way to get car towed. I think that a little understanding would be appreciated and hope the employees of this establishment are reprimanded.

I am going to have to agree with the majority of the reviews that are here in saying that Northwest Recovery is an awful company thats full of a bunch of jerks. Unlike most of the other reviews here though i will admit i should have paid more attention to the one and only sign that was posted in the half mile parking lot where i was parked. when i went into get my car back i actually did go in there without an attitude not being rude or disrespectful in any way and when i handed the woman behind the counter my visa, which on the sign does say they accept, well when my receipt printed out and i signed it and she said my signature looked like chicken scratch and told me "now lets try this again" in a very rude and degrading tone of voice. There's no need for this kind of disrespect. so i told her "if you didn't like my signature then i don't know what to tell you" and she started just giving me this cold stare and went on to explain that if i dont resign it then i can go get cash and "il... Too bad my homeowners' association doesn't read your reviews. NW Recovery isn't even listed in the BBB's Accredited Businesses listing--did I miss it? The car was parked in it's authorized parking space and it displayed the association's parking permit. This didn't stop NW from towing it at 2:15 a.m., Monday, because my son's license sticker broke off. Did you know that if your license plate sticker breaks apart, is stolen or lost, NW will tow it? According to a clerk at the State's Licensing Dept in Schaumburg, stickers are often stolen or break apart because of Chicago's extreme winters. CHECK YOUR LICENSE PLATES DAILY! To add more insult, my son's car broke down shortly after he reclaimed his car: A battery recharge by AAA, another $130 towing off of a two-lane hwy--w/o a cell phone (w/his 4 yr old son in the back seat) and an additional $163 charge to reconnect his battery. His car works great again. If I understand correctly, according to Illinois Commercial Relocat... Read more

I was just out looking around and I figured I would see if my old employer had a website. Low and behold I stumble upon this. So I figured I would write a review. Now I say this with the full understanding that I have no contact with the people working there now and truthfully I don't know if the same person(s) still own the company. I understand that most of the people that deal with having their cars towed, by a private property re-locater, are upset to begin with. You feel you have been somehow wronged when most likely it was your own ignorance or arrogance that got your vehicle impounded to begin with. The methods used to tow cars in the modern era of towing, ie. wheel lifts, touch no part of the vehicle but the tires. Can accidents happen? Sure they can, but they are by far the exception rather than the rule. Now for the people that claim the employees were rude or used profanity. Back to what I said earlier people don't show up to this type of company in a good mood and... Read more

You guys are right. Trailor trash. My car was towed I picked it up and it was damaged they denied it and when i came home I saw marks all over my drive way. They were totally rude to me when I was there. I tried to pay with a credit card and i wrote "under protest" on the reciept then he voided it and said he would only take cash from me and he wouldnt talk to me til i came back with cash. So I did and my car was damaged. Bunch of jerks. I have filed all sorts of complaints and will take them to small claims court if i need to.

The people that hire these scumbags to do the dirty work of towing must be going for who ever is the cheapest. They definately ruined my car after towing it and denied it and said I did it myself! I am too reporting them! Being towed is a seperate issue for whatever reason the individual is being towed and I think we eventually get over that anger, but when these jerks are damaging cars that is over the limit! Companies and buisness places BEWARE before signing a agreement with these people to tow cars off of your properties. You will be in the middle of lawsuits!

I agree with a few of these reviews that this company [as well as the companies that work along side them] are CROOKS. I understand that I may have parked in a hotel lot however I was going to stay there at the end of the night...there was no documentation saying that I needed a receipt in order to NOT get towed...hun!?! you people really need an education! Second, my license plate is bent and smashed inwards, and trust me, I would not let that happen to my car! There are 2 noticable scratches on the driver side of my car that were NOT there before because I had just had my car washed! I HAVE PHOTOS TO PROVE THIS [they were taken at your "business"!!] !! I have no hesitation calling a particular business that has the power to put you out of business because they need to be aware of this scam and damage to personal property! If this issue is not resolved I will have to take this to court. There are many many other towing companies out there that are friendly and willing to help ot... Read more

What can I say, these guys are crooks. I've complained to everybody but nobody will listen to me about how unfair the way these guys treated me and my friends. First off there isnt aany sign saying I can't park on the grass, and there aren't anny parking spaces available so it isnt my fault. Then when I went to pick it up they wouldn't give me my own car back unless I paid them. I've been sending them mail to their website @ northwestrecovery . com and they just keep saying I can file my complaint with the state. Somebody needs to do something about this crime. Keep sending them mail to nwrecovery@msn . com and let thhem knoe what you think of their deceptive practices.

Towed my car out of girlfriends parking lot, saying I did not have a parking pass. When I went to pick up my car, the pass was clearly displayed in proper place. Filling with with police department for fraudulent practices, along with Illinois Commerce Commission. Also contacted my attorney... this needs to stop!
