We had dinner aboard the Delta King Riverboat. We were extremely disappointed. The price for a dinner that wouldn't feed an ant was ridicul...

Unfortunately my second stay with this hotel was not as good an experience as I had 3 years ago when I stayed there. I was double charged for my room and management was not responsive. When I arrived at check-in I was told they could not find my reservation but they had a room so it was not a problem. I told the clerk at that point that I had AAA and what the rate was quoted. He assured me that they would honor that so I took the room (They gave us the room right in the Lobby hallway, lots of lobby noise throughout the evening.) Upon check out I had been charged the standard rate not the AAA discount I had reserved originally - the clerk at that time did give me the 10% AAA discount but that was still $20 higher than I had reserved the room for originally. I didn't have time to argue so I paid it. In a few weeks I checked my credit card statements to find that not only was I charged upon check-out but I had also been charged for my original reservation as if I was a No-S... Read more

Recently my daughter and I stayed at the Delta King. We were on the City View side of the boat. This was a special trip for my daughter's birthday and included a stay on the Delta King. My husband and I have stayed there a number of times before and it has always been a great experience. This time was quite another story. We returned to the hotel around 7 p.m. and spent an hour or so sitting on the deck watching the boats go by. Around 8:30 we returned to our room for an evening of relaxation and some television. Unfortunately, the evening was anything but relaxing. At nearly 9:30 a DJ began to play so loud outside our room that it sounded like we were in the bar. I called the front desk and the clerk told me they would be playing until 10:30 p.m. for a high school reunion. The DJ was evidently on the platform next to the boat, just outside our room. The music was so loud that we could not hear the television in the room, even with the sound turned all the way up. As a re... Read more

The Scene Once a riverboat shuttling passengers between San Francisco and Sacramento, this floating hotel is now permanently docked in Sacramento as one of the city's more nostalgic hotels. Like the Delta Queen, its sister hotel moored on the Mississippi River, an onboard stay conjures images of Mark Twain and the romance of the Wild West. The deck-level Pilothouse restaurant offers excellent outdoor dining, and a complimentary continental breakfast is included in the hotel's price. The Details The 44 larger-than-average State Rooms are furnished with a queen bed and a small sitting area with wicker tables and chairs. Also available is The Captain's Quarters, an enormous suite surrounded by full-sized windows, elegant mahogany paneling and built-in cabinetry. The Captain's furniture is similarly impressive with luxurious overstuffed sofas and chairs.

We were at the Delta King last weekend for our company christmas party and everything was perfect. It was the best company party I have ever been to. The outside of the boat is decorated for the holidays with garland and red bows and the hotel and banquet rooms are very festive. The rooms are so cute! There was a turndown service with romantic lighting and chocolates. I can recommend the Delta King without hesitation.
