I recently worked at this place of business. I'm a well educated and very hard and devoted employee, in most cases. Although I only worked for Dr. Slaughter for a short period of time, I was not impressed and almost offended by most every experience I had there. As a vet, I can not really make a good judgement because i did not have an experience with him in that area. As an employer, well, let's just say we had a meeting every single morning while I was there which mainly consisted of him throwing idol threats at all the employees about random tasks and subjects. The reason for my leaving the clinic, as I am sure you are wondering is because one stormy Sunday night the power went out while me and my husband were asleep, causing my alarm clock to reset and malfunction. I was awakened by the receptionist calling me at exactly 7:45, 45 minutes after i was supposed to be there. In a panic, seeing as how this was the first time i have EVER been late for work (military included) I told her ... Read more

I would not even give this place a star if I could! I worked there for 2 weeks. I liked it because I had just graduated high school and my boss gave me the week off. She told me to be at work on Monday. I came into work that Monday and she told me she would call me with my schedule. I called the Clinic as well as my boss' cell phone. She did not return my calls at all and would get someone else to answer and say she was busy. I went up there today to get my check and she said all the days I worked were considered "VOLUNTEER WORK" and I did NOT get paid. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Dr. Slaughter and his staff are great with animals and will care for your pet as much as you do. I took my puppy here and they saved his life unlike another vet I went to. They will give you advice about what they think the animal needs but will not do anything without your approval. I recommend this vet highly!! Thanks again Dr. Slaughter and staff for saving my puppy!!

This is the second time they have snuck in a dog a flu shot without asking permission as part of her yearly vaccinations, and we were stuck with the $40 tab(for a FLU shot!). I will say this one time people---dogs do not need a flu shot!!!!! No matter what the vet says. It is just one more completely unnecessary vaccination for veterinarians to make money on. Will never use them again, I can go across the state line to Mississippi and get my dogs yearlies and 6 months worth of heartworm medicine for $100. The only reason they got away with it this time is because my husband didn't challenge them and I didn't know about it until after they got the money.
