although i no longer have my 2004 honda accord, I did love it! I think that this is one of the best affordable cars around, especially compared to any american car. Its always a nice handle, smooth ride, efficient on gas, and not bad looking at all. great sound system as well! I would definetly get another honda in the future

We have the 1988 Honda Accord LX with approx. 188k miles. It was a gift in 2006. It really is a dependable car after a few repairs such as: replacing all four tires, brakes, rotors, passenger side front axle, alternator, timing belt, water pump, and starter switch. It still needs the driver's side front axle replaced, four new struts, new clutch, carberator rebuild, transmission replaced, front passenger power window motor, new muffler, air conditioning maintenance, and wiper motor. The gas mileage is around 28 to 31 mpg which definately helps us save for the additional repairs. The Honda dealer has a beautiful "Bold Beige" (looks more like gold metalic) 2009 Honda Accord XLS V6. This car gets decent gas mileage even though produces 271 hp. There doesn't seem to be another sedan that gets as high mpg for the hp.

You get what you pay for. Hondas are on the pricey side, but you get reliabilty and peace of mind with it. I have a 2000 Accord Ex and have had absolutely no issues with it at all. It still gets great gas mileage and is smooth as a top.

On the pricey side of typical family sedans, you could do much worse than a Honda Accord. The repair record is solid, the resale value is decent, and the product is usually a good one. A damn good (but not great) car that makes you feel that you spent your money wisely.

The Honda Accord has always been a very well biult car. They last a long time, get great gas millage and need very little repaires if any. Honda is a great company overall . As a trained mechanic if find that they are very easy to work on and are very easy to upgrade. My field of work is upgrading Tuner cars : Honda, Acura, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi , Nissan. Honda is by far my favorite though.

I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX (4-door, 4-cyl) with over 204,000 miles. It still runs great, even with a long strenuous trip into the NC mountains, recently. It has been the most dependable car I have had, with very few repairs through the years. And it still gets between 28-30 mpg.

I just bought the 07 4 door ex hybrid version, for no other reason than the gas mileage, and I am really surprised I like it as much as I do,very quiet ride, and smooth too.I wold recommend this or the honda civic, the reliability is great and they don't look that bad either.Update:Although this is a great car, with the new redesigned model now out,it's larger and more refined, starting prices are advertised at 23K,for a base model,by the time you get alot of options the new model passed 32K,I think honda is pricing itself out of it's market with this one,for the price you can have a nissan maxima, toyota avalon.OR acura tl

Honda Accord sucks. I was considering to lease one and came to the local dealership on Route 1 Edison, NJ, for a test drive. I have tried two brand new cars with V6 engine and both of them were malfunctioning. I went across the road and leased Volvo 60. Bye-bye, Honda... .

One of the nicest and affordable vehicles to own.And they are built right here in the USA providing jobs for americans, unlike Ford,Chevey and Chrysler who chose to move to other countries like Mexico and Canada to pay cheaper labor and leaving US citizen's in the unemployment lines after working faithfully for these companies for years. As far as I'm concerned I hope they go broke.I was a died in the wool Ford man and I won't spend another dollar on American Vehicles that aren't made in the USA anymore.I don't buy their finacial woe stories at all...it is pure greed that motivated these moves to other countries.Honda is American made now and they support our national workforce by supplying not only a quality productline, but jobs as well.

I leased an Accord for the summer once, and it was a great car to drive. It was comfortable on the inside and handled similar to the Civic, but with much better acceleration. The extra room was the only major difference between the Accord and the Civic in my mind.

I'm not sure what it is but my husband and I both love the Honda Accord. We currently own a 1997 Accord LX and a 2002 Accord EX-V6. We also previously owned a 1987 Accord LXi. My husband purchased the 1987 in about 1994 with over 140,000 miles on it and had nothing but problems with it. However he still loved his Honda. Eventually in 1996 we traded it on a Mazda Protege which was not a car we wanted, but what we could afford at the time. In 2000 we came back and purchased the 1997 and then we followed about a year ago with the 2002. The only mechanical problems we've had with the 1997 are we had to have the ignition switch replaced (there was a recall on it so we didn't pay anything) and the air went out on it which cost us about $500-$600. I don't think that's bad for a car that we've had for almost 6 years. We haven't had any problems with the 2002. The only thing we've done is replace an interior light bulb. I think if you do the maintenance on your vehicles they will treat you good... Read more

Terrific build quality, excellent efficiency when paired with the V-6 and the electric hybrid motor - That particular set-up will net you 30+ mpg, and still allow you to smoke the guy next to you driving the 325 Bimmer.

I have now owned 2 honda accords in the last 7 years. In my many years of cars ownership and experience, I can offer the follwing comments. On the plus side, Honda cars generally do not experience major breakdowns and can run for many miles (200-300K) providing recommended maintenance is religously carried out. That's about all I can say that is positive about this make. On the down side, these cars are overly expensive to purchase and even more costly to maintain. When a breakdown does occur, be prepared to shell out major bucks for repair parts. Typical Honda parts will set you back about 3 times the cost of American car parts. Body styling is not particularily eye-catching. Most of the color schemes (body/interior) offered are anything but attractive. Exterior, interior and drivetrain parts seem to be under engineered (cheaply built) and it is very easy to get dents, breakage on interiors parts, etc. When activating the ABS system on a sudden stop, it feels as though damage is being... Boring...they really fell asleep at the wheel (all puns intended) on the design of this body style. I mean it looks like the car is doped up with this droopy tail lights and front facade. Very disapointed... Plus no good upgrades to the engine except in the gas guzzling 6.

What vehicle is more boring than the Accord? I can't think of any at the time (except for maybe the Civic, another Honda). Granted, they are well engineered and built to last, but really, who wants to drive the automotive form of a sleeping pill for 200k miles? There is nothing unique about the Accord, hell they are even modified in the same way (clear lights, huge mufflers, hiper-white signals, etc). Also, they are not even all that well built, either. A ride in one reveals a cheap, tinny quality about the car (the way the doors close, the ride quality, the seat material, etc.) that does not endear itself too well, either. Let's also not forget about the troubles with their automatic trannys of late, which even appear in the overpriced Acura line. I would go into styling, but that would take up excessive bandwidth, so I'll stop here.

My 2000 LX is not a perfect car; it is certainly not exciting. However, almost nothing goes wrong with it, and it has exceptional road manners for a sedan. Engine is strong and smooth for a 4 cylinder, too.

I own a 2004 Honda Accord, I must say to anyone looking to buy the '05 hey go for it, it rides like a million bucks! when you drive it you feel like you own the streets plus the car has so much power! and it is so comfortable to just sit in, the stock sound system is awesome, with its 6 cd changer plus xm satelite radio. Safety I cant even count how many airbags the car has, I t is so econimical it fills up when empty with just $25. dollars and the six cylynder can take you about 380 miles with one full tank not bad. I have no complaints. If you get the sedan get it with leather, so that you can get the heated seats and the outside temperature digital gauge the Navigation package was a good $2000. extra but It is worh it. I hope this helps anyone interested in this awesome machine. make sure to also get the wing!

The Accord is an excellent sedan, based on my experience with a 1994 Accord (traded it in on a CR-V in 2002). Never had any problems with it for 8 years. Almost bought a 2005 Accord, but my wife didn't like it as much as the 1994 as far as visbility and seat comfort for her went, so we ended up with a Ford Five Hundred. I'd recommend Honda products to anyone.

Just bought a 2005 Honda Accord LX, traded up from a 1983!! LX. My 1983 ran well for 22 years but what a difference after 22 years. The 2005 is a luxury car compared to 1983. This is a fabulous car, better than the Camry, just a notch down from Acura. I'm a Honda fan if you didn't figure it out.

Good - but quality has slipped a little from models in the 1990's. Seem to have lost distinctiveness in favor of more American approach to car design and features.

My parents got this car about July and i LOVE to drive it. It has good power, never breaks down, and is built well. Bad part is on the 2004 model the transmitton is bad and was recalled, so that sucks. But still is a very nice car. I highly suggest this car (don't get a 04 though because of trans probelms) Also get the leather interior its easier to keep clean and IS worth it..

20004 Honda Accord with the 2.4 engine. Very good gas mileage ( average 30 mpg in combined driving ) power is adequate for a 4 cyl. Handling and braking is crisp. Only complaint is the passenger window rattled, took it to the dealer under warranty to have them fix it.

I have a 1994 Honda Accord EX and I purchased it with 44K miles and it now has 192,500 miles. I've only had one timing belt replaced at 90K miles and I get oil changes every 3K-5K miles. My car keeps going and going and going like the Energizer bunny. It gives me no trouble at all and the man at the Honda dealership said it is just kicking in. I plan to drive it until it doesn't drive any more. I love not having a car payment and I love the fact that it still looks good. My car payment money now goes into my 401K plan for the past 3 years! The only problem I can say is the A/C doesn't work as well as I'd like, but it does the job okay. I read about the A/C problems before purchasing the car in the Consumer Reports Buying Guide, which everyone should check before purchasing a car or anything major. I swear by Honda's. This is my 2nd Accord in 11 years. HONDA ROCKS!!!!

I have had three Hondas in the past 16 years - 1986 Honda Accord LX, 1992 Honda Prelude, and 1996 Honda Accord EX (110,000 miles and running.) No major problems except for replacing the master cylinder three times on the 1996 Accord. Overall, I have spent more time waiting in mechanic waiting rooms for my mother's 1997 BMW than I have with all three of my Hondas. Outside of normal replacements (tires, batteries - I live in AZ, and one brake job) I haven't put more than $1,000 into repairs for any of my Hondas. They are wonderful, dependable cars. This one certainly won't be my last.

What can I say about the Accord that hasn't already been said? Dull, boring, ugly, and cheaply built seem to sum it up, but let me explain further. I had test driven a 1988 Honda Accord when I was searching out a first car back in 1997. I had heard good thing about Hondas and thought to try them out. Boy was I ever sorry! The test drive proved the car to be a rattletrap because lots of loose trim pieces were on the verge of falling off. The materials on the seats felt very cheap and were uncomfortable. The whole car felt like it was going to fall apart! Thinking Honda improved, I test drove a 2004 Accord top of the line EX-V6. Sadly, the leather felt like vinyl, the dashboard had a buzz in it, and the material felt cheap, especially the plasticy door handles. All in all, while I'm sure the Accord is a nice car and I just got bad examples, you'd probably be better off with something better built.

I had a 1993 Accord LX, bought it @ 196,000 and it ran great. No problems except for worn out rotors and catalytic converter. Wrecked it @207,000 beyond repair and came out without a scratch. A very safe car if you have your seatbelt on, solid structure!! I bought a '92 Accord EX Coupe. Just like the 93 LX, fun to drive and dependable. The '92 EX coupe has excellent handling, take corners easily at upto 20 above the posted yellow/black limit on winding roads. It also has decent power @140 ponnies, which makes overtaking a walk in the park. Only problem is that the AC seems not to be strong enought to cool down the car comfortably in a hot summer day, unless you switch from vent to circulation. Also, the wind/road noise is audible but tolerable. Very reliable/dependable cars, good gas mileage, nice looks, good handling, and maintains quality for decades without draining on the pocket (except for regular oil change and maintanance). Go get yourself one of these and get a peace of mind!

I've owned a 1989 Civic DX and currently own an 1997 Accord LX. The Civic never let me down, although when it got to be nine or ten years old, the electrical system got a little funny. The gas tank finally rotted out after 11 years and 140K miles, which is the only reason I got rid of it. The Accord has been great - not a lick of major trouble, just a new muffler and brakes every two years because I live in a state that uses salt and cars rot out very fast. The Accord is seven years old and has only one small spot of rust. I would heartily recommend this brand of car.

We would have continued to drive both, if it were not for auto-accidents,(beyond repair-able) and not our fault...Hondas were low maintenance, excellent fuel economy and fun to drive.

Honda Accord is definitely on top of the sedan list. The car has it all. It's really affordable, saves on gas, the engine runs like it never ends and it's sportier than ever. The new accord coupe outputs 240 horses, wow! Accord looks way more sporty than the Camry. But the most impressive thing about this car for ages has been the engine. You can never have big problems with this car, cuz the engine has no limits, i mean you could drive this car for your whole life and it wont break down. I must say that to buy an Accord is money well invested!

My mom owns a 1999 Accord EX with the V-6 engine. 65,000 miles and not a single problem. It has tons of power, and it seems well matched to the smooth shifting transmission. Even though it only came with a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty, you don't really need a long warranty with a new Honda because they are so reliable. Thanks Honda!

In regards to the comment made by QualityEng about Honda's safety-- the 2003 Accord was rated as a "best pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Institute gave the '03 Accord a good rating (highest possible mark) in each of the categories tested in the frontal offset crash test. The Civic, CR-V, and Element are also "best picks". Honda owners can sleep very well at night knowing their children ride in some of the safest cars in the world.

My mom has a 1996 Accord that we bought new. It was the 25th anniversity edition with AC and radio but no cruise, PW, or PL. Very dependable but bland. Styling of the 96-97 models are not to my liking - 1994-95s are better. The only problem was the main engine seal broke and leaked all the oil out. The car was driven only a couple of miles to the library before we discovered. Honda towed the car and serviced for free even though the car was out of warranty.
